This is a pretty typical front yard. The Aspen trees weren’t doing well and it is mostly a mono-culture of grass.

While functional, the homeowner didn’t care for the aesthetic of the block wall.

Just another view of just another (rather boring) front yard.

All of the turf grass was removed and the area planted with xeric and native plants.

So much more lively than the mono-culture of turf grass!

Rather than manufactured block, sand stone rip-rap was stacked to make a more natural looking retaining wall. It’s much prettier!

Large slabs of flagstone make a path that’s easy to walk, and which you want to follow.
